About me – I am a 26 year old mother of one who was diagnosed with Grade 4 brain cancer (Glioblastoma Multiforme) in April of this year. If you read older posts, you will see my story unfold (I didn’t know about my condition when I first started blogging). Now, still trying to lose the weight AND the cancer, I am adopting an Anti-Cancer diet based off the book by David Servan-Schreiber MD PHD. I’ll write about life and eating, exercise and fatigue, and hope and joy as I journal my experience BEATING brain cancer… annnnnd cellulite. (Both are formidable opponents, let me tell you!)
Before the Cancer:
As a former Miss Texas USA contestant, my life changed dramatically when my good friend and ally – my metabolism – decided to wage war against me. After packing on an extra 50 pounds, I have a long way to go before I’m back to where I started, but I’ll get there – one pound at a time if I have to. No more “weighting” for the weight to drop off on it’s own… it’s a hard thing to do – accepting that you’ve been betrayed and your old friend will not magically reappear to burn those extra calories. But along with acceptance comes responsibility. I alone have the power to change my weight. And change it I will!
My husband and I (pictured above) currently reside in Portland, Oregon. This blog is intended to make you laugh and encourage you as I tell my story of motherhood, weight loss, cancer, and life in the face of morbid statistics.
Of all the WW blogs that I have found, yours is the one I read everyday
You are a good writer and I enjoy your blogs. You keep it honest, fresh, and entertaining. Yesterday, I even went through and read them all!
Good luck with your weight loss! I look forward to seeing more posts
Take care!
